INTERNATIONAL REPORT—Hotels have recently opened across the globe. Here’s a look at five of them:

Rosewood Phuket

Rosewood Hotels & Resorts has opened Rosewood Phuket in Thailand. Its debut marks not only the first Southeast Asia resort for the brand, but the unveiling of the first Asaya, Rosewood’s new wellness concept. Additional property highlights include 71 pool pavilions and villas with sea-facing views and personal garden terraces; four distinct dining venues including rustic Thai seafood restaurant Ta Khai, Italian restaurant Red Sauce, poolside lounge Mai, and poolside joint The Shack; an organic beachside infinity pool; a Rosewood Explorers children’s facility with a hands-on focus on creativity and social responsibility; and The Pavilion, Rosewood’s residential-style events and wedding space.

The hotel also has a rainwater harvest system providing the resort’s entire water supply, the largest solar renewable energy system in a Phuket hotel, and “landscaped” rooftops that provide energy conservation. The resort sponsors a coral reef restoration project in Emerald Bay.

Culinary outlets at Renaissance Downtown Hotel, Dubai include BHAR, offering Middle Eastern cuisine; Grounded, a coffee shop; BASTA!, an Italian offering from David Myers, opening in November; Bleu Blanc, a Southern French farmhouse-inspired venue, which is also from Myers and opening in November; and Morimoto Dubai, celebrity chef Masaharu Morimoto’s concept, which will open in December.
