NEW YORK—Gansevoort Hotel Group has appointed a new food and beverage team at Gansevoort Turks + Caicos; the new executive chef, Mahdi Eghnam, will be responsible for the property’s menu development, and the new F&B director, Carlos Echaiz, will be accountable for the day-to-day operations.
Eghnam and Echaiz will oversee the hotel’s signature restaurant, Stelle, which serves Mediterranean cuisine, in addition to the Beach Bar + Grill and event facilities. Eghnam fuses distinct island flavors with locally sourced fish to construct a unique dining menu, according to the company.
Eghnam brings nearly 14 years of experience to Gansevoort Turks + Caicos. He previously worked as executive chef at The Residence Phou Vao by Orient Express in South East Asia and chef de partie at Four Seasons Hotels, Riyadh, kingdom of Saudi Arabia, and is a graduate of the Hotel Institute in Tunisia.
Echaiz brings over 13 years of hotel operations experience to the resort, previously working for Celebrity Cruises, Ritz-Carlton, and Rosewood Mayakoba in Mexico, among others.
