Fairfield Inn & Suites Opens in Downtown New Orleans

NEW ORLEANS—The 103-suite Fairfield Inn & Suites by Marriott in downtown New Orleans is scheduled to open later this month with new public space and guestroom design.

Located at 346 Baronne St., the Fairfield Inn & Suites New Orleans Downtown/French Quarter Area will operate as a Marriott franchise, owned and managed by New Castle Hotels & Resorts of Shelton, CT. This is the first Fairfield Inn & Suites in the area to feature the brand’s new design and décor.

Situated in the Central Business District, in the historic building that originally housed the Crescent City Electric Company in 1910, and 15 miles from Louis Armstrong New Orleans International Airport, the hotel is also close to the Mercedes-Benz Superdome, the Morial Convention Center and Harrah’s New Orleans Casino as well as the French Quarter.

“Delivering both function and comfort, our new design and decor elevate the Fairfield brand, setting a new standard in the moderate tier category,” said Shruti Buckley, VP and global brand manager, Fairfield Inn & Suites.

In the lobby area, there is a vibrant, natural color palette of greens, blues and oranges. The lobby provides connectivity options, as well as a connect-and-print area that offers both standing and seated internet stations. Furnishings in the lobby include an organic-shaped sofa and lounge chair, and unique features, including locally sourced artwork inspired by New Orleans.

The breakfast area’s signature farm table provides a central gathering place. In the morning, complimentary hot breakfast is available. Flexible and functional, the guestroom includes a work area, an ergonomic chair, task lighting and electrical outlets. A curved, mobile desk enables guests to create their own workspace.

Suites feature 13-ft. ceilings with exposed beams from the building’s original structure and place the living and working area near the window to take advantage of natural light and city views. Building on this natural design, the room decor features organic patterns and fresh colors, blending wood tones with bright pops of color. There is also a refrigerator, coffeemaker, microwave and safe. Suites feature several layouts: rooms with two king beds, two queen beds, or single king beds with pull-out couches.

Additional hotel amenities include a bar, exercise room, the brand’s signature 24/7 Corner Market, valet laundry service, complimentary WiFi, as well as fax and copy services.
