Executives on the Move in Hospitality

INTERNATIONAL REPORT—Hospitality leaders are assuming new roles. Here’s more on the personnel changes from Valor Hospitality Partners and Terrapin Hospitality:

Valor Adds Tim Smith to Business Development Team
Tim Smith, formerly managing partner of HVS sub-Saharan Africa, has joined Valor Hospitality Partners’ global business development team.

Smith joins as head of business development for EMEA (Europe, Middle East and Africa), based out of London, working directly with the Valor Europe office. He will be utilizing his knowledge and experience from working in 35 different African countries and 30 across Europe and the Middle East to grow the Valor portfolio across the region.

Sarah Garcia Joins Terrapin Hospitality
Terrapin Hospitality has appointed Sarah Garcia as its SVP of sales and marketing.

Garcia is a long-term hospitality professional with more than 20 years of hospitality experience in sales, marketing and revenue management. She will be responsible for overseeing top-line revenue efforts for all assets and will strive to drive revenue to the top line and all the way down to NOI. Garcia will run the company’s sales organization, including full-service, select-service, and economy properties.

Prior to joining Terrapin, Garcia was corporate VP, sales and marketing for Aimbridge Hospitality. She also served as VP, sales, marketing and revenue management for Shamin Hotels and held positions with Interstate Hotels & Resorts, Noble Investment Group and Columbia Sussex Corporations.
