Execs on the Move at Access Point Financial, MGM, Rocco Forte

INTERNATIONAL REPORT—Hospitality companies are bolstering their leadership rosters. Here’s a look at recent personnel shifts at Access Point Financial, MGM Resorts International and Rocco Forte Hotels.

Access Point Financial Appoints Key Executives

Access Point Financial LLC (APF) has made two new key appointments to its leadership team, with Angelo Stambules signing on as VP of capital markets and loan syndications, and Keith Avant joining as chief credit officer. Both appointments were made as part of Access Point Financial’s aggressive growth strategy going into 2020.

Angelo Stambules is a 25-year veteran of the hotel finance, development, investment, consulting, and operations industries. In his most recent role as managing director at hotel investment banking and brokerage firm Davis Hotel Capital, Stambules served as an advisor to clients seeking creative capital and investment advisory assistance. Prior to joining Davis Hotel Capital, Stambules served as VP of hotel investments & capital markets at Starwood Hotels & Resorts. Before this, he held senior leadership positions at Capmark Finance, Hunter Hotel Advisors, Marriott International, and Prime Hospitality Group.

Keith Avant brings 27 years of experience in the banking and credit industries to his new role as chief credit officer at Access Point Financial. Avant began his career at First Union National Bank in Jacksonville, FL, and went on to hold a variety of management and credit-related positions at SunTrust Bank and Bank of America Merrill Lynch. He most recently served as EVP and chief credit officer for MidSouth Bank, located in Lafayette, LA, where he oversaw all of the organization’s lending and credit operations.

MGM Resorts Taps SVP & Chief Sales Officer

MGM Resorts International revealed that Stephanie Glanzer, CMP, has been appointed SVP & chief sales officer, overseeing the company’s convention sales and operations efforts.

Glanzer has been with MGM Resorts since 1998. She was most recently the VP of sales strategy and operations, where she was responsible for ensuring effectiveness and consistency in the total group sales operation, including sales, convention services, catering, and wedding chapels across the entire organization.

Glanzer previously served as the VP of sales at Mandalay Bay and Delano Las Vegas, where she provided strategic leadership and direction for the hotel sales department that includes more than 2 million sq. ft. of convention and exhibit space. Prior to coming to Mandalay Bay, Glanzer was VP of sales and marketing at ARIA Resort & Casino and Vdara Hotel & Spa at CityCenter in Las Vegas. Glanzer was on the pre-opening team of CityCenter, where she played an instrumental role in the planning, development and creation of ARIA as a premier convention destination.

Rocco Forte Hotels Names VP of Sales

Rocco Forte Hotels has appointed Jan Arnold as VP of sales. Based in Frankfurt, Germany, Arnold will direct a team of 24 regional sales directors and managers located in 12 countries in Europe, the Middle East, the Americas and China. He will be a member of Rocco Forte Hotels’ executive committee, reporting to Director of Operations Maurizio Saccani.

Arnold joins Rocco Forte from Four Seasons where he began his career in 2002 as a trainee in operational and administration departments in Boston. He quickly advanced within the company holding various roles such as associate regional director of sales in 2008 in London, regional director of sales in Frankfurt’s worldwide sales office in 2010 and director of sales EMEA in the Dubai corporate office in 2016.
