Element Prototype Earns LEED Pre-Certification

WHITE PLAINS, NY—Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide Inc.s Element brand has achieved LEED Volume Pre-certification from the U.S. Green Building Council for its prototype design.

With the pre-certification, all new-build Element hotels are automatically qualified to pursue LEED designation. The pre-approved prototype will make it faster, easier and less costly for developers to build a LEED hotel, according to the company.

Elements LEED Volume Pre-certified prototype is based on the brands Lexington, MA, property, which was awarded LEED Gold-level certification in 2008.
