Dual-Brand Opens in St. Louis; More in the Midwest

NATIONAL REPORT—Hotels are opening in the Midwest, from Missouri to Illinois to Kansas, with new decor and fresh amenities. Here’s a look at what’s new:

Dual-Brand Opens in St. Louis

Midas Hospitality has opened the dual-branded Residence Inn and Courtyard by Marriott. The four-story, 136,000-sq.-ft. hotel is located at Manchester Rd. and I-270.  The hotels were developed and are owned by the Roberts’ families, principals of Commercial Development Company Inc. The 101-room Residence Inn and the 110-room Courtyard by Marriott will be managed by hotel management group Midas Hospitality.

The property was built by Midas’ sister company MC Hotel Construction. The dual-branded hotel has a fitness center, indoor pool, meeting rooms and outdoor gathering spaces and Courtyard Bistro.

​Elliott Park Hotel Opens in Minneapolis 

Autograph Collection Hotels​ together with​ ​Wilkinson Corporation​ and​ Coury Hospitality​, has opened the​ ​Elliot Park Hotel​, situated in one of Minneapolis’ oldest neighborhoods. Located at the intersection of South 5th St. and South 9th St., the boutique hotel is close to downtown.

Elliot Park Hotel is an eight-story building with 155 rooms, 13 suites and more than 3,200 sq. ft. of meeting and event space.  In addition, the hotel has 300 sq. ft. of retail space, showcasing carefully curated items made in Minnesota. 

State House Inn Opens in Springfield, IL

State House Inn, part of The Red Collection, Red Roof’s first soft-brand, has opened in Illinois’ capital city. Located in downtown Springfield, the property has 125 guestrooms and has undergone a full renovation. The property is close to the Illinois State Capitol, Abraham Lincoln Presidential Library, the Illinois State Museum, Memorial Medical Center and HSHS St John’s Hospital. The property is owned by Vendian Capital Management LTD and managed by Packard Hospitality Management LLC.

Guests will find a lobby with a stone fireplace, lounge seating, high-top workspaces, locally inspired artwork and WiFi connectivity. Other amenities include The Top Hat Lounge, a bar for light bites and signature drinks, 5500 sq. ft. of flexible meeting space and a fitness center.

Fairfield Inn & Suites to Open With New Decor in Kansas

The 108-room Fairfield Inn & Suites by Marriott in McPherson, KS is scheduled to open on Nov. 2 with new decor. The Fairfield Inn & Suites McPherson will operate as a Marriott franchise, owned and managed by Liberty Hotel Group of Liberty, MO.

The new decor nods back to the brand’s heritage. Elements include a farmhouse table in the lobby, photography from the Fairfield Farm serving as artwork in the lobby and guestrooms, natural materials and unique textures throughout and a history wall in every property showcasing the brand’s roots.

The Fairfield Inn & Suites McPherson offers access to the McPherson Water Park, the McPherson Opera House, the McPherson Museum and Arts Foundation and downtown McPherson. Additional hotel amenities include an indoor swimming pool, an exercise room, valet laundry service, complimentary WiFi as well as fax and copy services.
