MCLEAN, VA—The DoubleTree by Hilton Fort Smith City Center has opened in Fort Smith, AR, following a multimillion-dollar renovation. The hotel is connected to the Fort Smith Convention Center, offering 255 guestrooms in a nine-story, atrium-style hotel that features a five-story waterfall cascading into the lobby.
Located in the heart of downtown, the property is five miles from Fort Smith Municipal Airport and close to numerous area businesses and historic attractions, such as the Museum of History, the outdoor Trolley Car Museum and walking trails along the Arkansas River.
“Downtown Fort Smith is an increasingly popular business hub for western Arkansas, thanks in large part to its spacious and versatile convention center,” said Dianna Vaughan, SVP and global head, DoubleTree by Hilton. “By fully renovating the adjacent hotel and converting it to DoubleTree by Hilton, we are bringing to Fort Smith the upscale lodging and welcoming service our guests expect from our growing, worldwide brand.”
All rooms offer complimentary WiFi access, an ergonomic workstation, black-out curtains and DoubleTree Sweet Dreams Sleep Experience beds. In addition, each room has interior balconies for views of the waterfall, open lobby restaurant and lounge.
Custom artwork is placed throughout the hotel, including sculptures on the back wall of the reception desk that reflect the annual butterfly migration through the city each fall.
The 1817 Grille provides regional cuisine that draws on local ingredients. With the waterfall as its backdrop, The Tap Room offers an assortment of drinks and signature cocktails in a space equipped with screens for watching sports or entertainment. Takeout and room service are also available; snacks, sandwiches, salads, beer and wine are available in the onsite 24-hour Made Market Pantry.
There is also more than 17,000 sq. ft. of column-free, on-site meeting space, including a 10,656-sq.-ft. grand ballroom. State-of-the-art AV equipment and services are available in addition to a fully equipped 24-hour business center. Other amenities include the Wake Up DoubleTree Breakfast, an assortment of gourmet in-room tea and coffee offerings by The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf and an array of products from the Crabtree & Evelyn natural skin and body care line.
Elsewhere on the property is a 24-hour fitness center, an indoor heated pool and a free shuttle to any location within a five-mile radius, including the airport.
