INTERNATIONAL REPORT—Brands are expanding in Asia. With developments in China, Japan, Malaysia and Laos, here’s more on the recent news:

The Prince Akatoki Brand Expands to China

StayWell Holdings and Prince Hotels Inc. will open its second The Prince Akatoki in 2019, in Guangzhou. StayWell Holdings and Prince Hotels Inc. created The Prince Akatoki brand in June of this year. The new hotel will have 275 rooms and four dining destinations.

Located within the government development precinct of Bio-Island and within the Pearl River Delta area, The Prince Akatoki is in China’s economic hub and close to the Guangzhou International Convention and Exhibition Center and University City.

Hyatt House Enters Extended-Stay Space in Malaysia

Hyatt and UEM Sunrise Berhad have opened the Hyatt House Kuala Lumpur, Mont’Kiara, marking the brand’s entry into the extended-stay hotel segment in Malaysia and the Southeast Asian region. The Hyatt House hotel is located in the cosmopolitan community of Mont’Kiara, close to the Malaysian International Trade and Exhibition Center (MITEC).

With 298 guestrooms and fully equipped kitchen suites, the hotel has a restaurant, 3,200 sq. ft. of meeting space, a 24-hour workout room, infinity sky pool and bar.

Hyatt House Rebrands in Japan

A Hyatt affiliate has entered into a management agreement with Hokkaido Alpine Resort Management GK, an affiliate of LimeTree Capital, for a 91-room Hyatt House hotel in Niseko, Japan. The upscale, extended-stay hotel will be rebranded as Hyatt House Niseko on Dec. 16, 2018.

Situated in Hirafu Village and close to Hirafu’s main ski lifts, Hyatt House Niseko will allow guests to access the area’s snow and village attractions. The new Hyatt House Niseko will have 91 rooms, a lobby lounge and bar, restaurant and a fitness center.

Amari Brand to Develop Laos Property

Onyx Hospitality Group has a management agreement with Laos-based Asia Investment, Development & Construction Sole Co Ltd. (AIDC), to develop a new-build Amari hotel in the city center of Vientiane, the capital city of Laos. AIDC is an investment and construction joint venture led by Tang Charoen Group, developer of Amari Vang Vieng which opened early this year.‏ Amari Vientiane will occupy a central Mekong Riverside location, close to the city’s “night market street” and the Chao Anouvong Park.

The hotel has 250 rooms and suites in a 15-story building and will have Amari brand signatures, including service from Amari Hosts, the street market-style Amaya Food Gallery, Breeze Spa and meeting facilities with indoor and outdoor space. Other facilities include a specialty restaurant, an outdoor pool and fitness center.

Malaysia Property Opens with Amenities

The RuMa Hotel and Residences has opened in Kuala Lumpur’s Golden Triangle in Malaysia, as the latest luxury hotel and residences by Urban Resort Concepts (URC).

With 253 guestrooms and suites, the new-build hotel also has two dining venues, a bar and lounge, a fitness center, an infinity pool and sundeck and spa to open in 2019. The hotel also has indoor and outdoor venues for meetings and social gatherings.
