MIAMI—Destination Hotels has added b2 Hotel Miami Downtown to its portfolio.
The 242-room property, located at 146 Biscayne Blvd., will be repositioned and relaunched in December under Destination management.
In addition, Robert Festinger will serve as general manager, moving from the Newport Beachside Hotel and Resort, where he served as VP/managing director, overseeing operations for the oceanfront resort’s 360 rooms and more than 600 employees. Previously, Festinger held positions with Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide, Inc. as director of sales and catering for the Westin and Sheraton brands.
“We feel privileged to be managing one of the newest hotels in Downtown Miami,” said Jamie Sabatier, president/COO of Destination Hotels. “We are excited for our inaugural partnership with Host Hotels & Resorts and the opportunity to demonstrate our successful management platform in order to create this new lifestyle brand and ultimately drive asset value.”
Located eight miles from Miami International Airport, b2 Hotel Miami Downtown opened in 2013. The hotel features Biscayne Tavern, a gastro-tavern by restaurateur Jeffrey Chodorow, 1,000 sq. ft. of meeting space and a fitness center.
