TORONTO—Delta Hotels and Resorts has unveiled plans for a new waterfront hotel in Burlington, Ontario, called the Delta Burlington Waterfront.
The hotel will become the city’s first four-star, full-service hotel, according to the company, and will feature Delta’s reinvigorated brand through modern design and innovation. Construction will start in 2015 and the property will open in 2018.
The 52-yr.-old Canadian hotel company recently unveiled its “Expect Even More” brand campaign. The company has introduced its new ModeRooms, which feature a modern design, and is developing new properties. The Delta Burlington Waterfront will feature 152 ModeRoom guestrooms and suites, 8,000 sq. ft. of conference space including a 3,000-sq.-ft. main ballroom and a combination of executive boardroom-style meting rooms, a full-service restaurant and lounge, an indoor pool and fitness center.
The property will provide direct access to the Waterfront Trail and Lake Ontario. It will be near shopping, as well as the Royal Botanical Gardens, Joseph Brant Museum and Ireland House. The hotel will be managed by Delta Hotels and Resorts and is being developed by MADY. It is part of the Burlington Bridgewater project being developed by MADY as a panned work/live/play neighborhood that will contain condominiums and retail space. The hotel will be designed by Page + Steele/ IBI Group Architects.
