BETHESDA, MD—Courtyard Glasgow Airport has undergone a refurbishment before joining Courtyard by Marriott, marking the brand’s debut in the city. Formerly Ramada Glasgow Airport Hotel, the hotel is conveniently situated on Glasgow Airport’s doorstep, and a short distance from the city center.
All 114 guestrooms have undergone an extensive renovation, in addition to the public areas, leisure facilities and restaurant and bar venue, The Bistro. Carrying the latest Courtyard by Marriott design, the new spaces offer contemporary and efficient design to ensure convenience and productivity throughout the entire stay, according to the brand.
The lobby has been redesigned into a flexible space to promote engagement with guests. The GoBoard, a Courtyard by Marriott concept, offers touchscreen technology to allow users to view the latest airport information and research tourist attractions. There is also complimentary WiFi.
New features of the property include a fully equipped fitness center, as well as a business center with three meeting rooms. In addition, the hotel’s 24-hour market provides refreshments and travel accessories. The hotel also plans an additional 56 rooms by mid-2017, increasing the total to 170 rooms.
The transformation follows a significant investment by owner Cairn Group.
Courtyard Glasgow Airport is one of two additions for Courtyard by Marriott in Scotland this year, with Courtyard Edinburgh anticipated to open in December. Courtyard by Marriott has one existing outpost in Scotland; Courtyard Aberdeen Airport, which opened in 2013.
