MINNEAPOLIS—Country Inns & Suites By Carlson honored its 2013 top-performing hotels, general managers and employees at the brand’s 2014 Business Conference held recently at Red Rock Casino Resort & Spa in Las Vegas.

Marsha McCreary, breakfast hostess from Country Inn & Suites By Carlson, Hanover, VA, was named the 2013 Employee of the Year. According to the company, McCreary exemplifies the brand’s Be Our Guest service philosophy, which encourages employees to treat guests as if they were hosting them in their own home with a mindful, genuine and welcoming spirit. The hotel has received over 250 complimentary guest letters and reviews that name McCreary, earning her the brand’s gold Be Our Guest Pin, the highest level pin an employee can earn through guest recognition.

Joe Freyer, GM, Country Inn & Suites By Carlson, Anderson, SC, was named 2013 General Manager of the Year. According to the company, exceptional results for his hotel include a significant increase in room revenue over the previous year, outstanding overall guest satisfaction, being ranked number one on TripAdvisor in the hotels market and being a recent winner of the TripAdvisor Travelers Choice Award. Freyer’s hotel is also a 2013 President’s Award winner, which is presented to the hotels that achieved top scores in guest satisfaction as measured by guest feedback for cleanliness and consistency in meeting or exceeding the brand’s product quality standards, and a 2013 Be Our Guest Award winner, presented to the hotels with the highest guest satisfaction ratings.
