Coming Soon: Three International Firsts

INTERNATIONAL REPORT—Three hotel companies are opening their first properties in new regions, including the first-ever property for Grupo Cappuccino.

Hotel Mama

Hotel Mamá, the first hotel from Grupo Cappuccino, is set to open this spring in the historic quarter of Palma de Mallorca, Spain, Plaza De Cort.

The company is known for its restaurants and cafés in locations including Spain’s Mallorca, Ibiza, Madrid, Valencia, and Marbella, as well as Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, and Beirut.

The property has been designed by Parisian interior designer Jacques Grange. All of the furniture in the hotel has been created or adapted by Grange for the project.

The 19th-century building will have 32 exclusive rooms, with five bespoke styles including Marella, Celadon, Garden, Oriental and Roman. There will be eight suites, all of which face Plaza De Cort. Eight deluxe rooms, eight superior rooms and eight standard rooms will also have views of the historic quarter of the city.

Ritz-Carlton St. Kitts

The Ritz-Carlton Hotel Company L.L.C. has signed a management agreement with The Liamuiga Corporation to open a Ritz-Carlton resort in St. Kitts expected in 2021, bringing the brand to this Eastern Caribbean Island for the first time.

The Ritz-Carlton resort, which will include 125 suites and 25 branded villas and residences, will be located on the southeast peninsula of the island facing the Caribbean Sea.

The resort will offer a range of amenities, including a luxury spa, several swimming pools set within the lush tropical landscape, and indoor and outdoor dining facilities and meeting spaces.

The Ritz-Carlton resort will be the anchor of a larger development project led by Liamuiga in association with Jim Wrightsman, principal of the development management firm The JSW|Group. The multi-phased project is situated on a 254-acre site fronting two sides of the Caribbean Sea. The project design team includes local professionals and consultants and a collaboration of the Coleman Partners Architects, Three Architecture Inc. and Marzipan Interior Design.

The hotel will provide places to work and gather. This will include 2,600 sq. ft. of meeting rooms and a 600-sq.-ft. lobby, as well as a 4,000-sq.-ft. restaurant with an inside patio and outside terrace. At the front entrance of the hotel, Mama’s Kiss will serve fresh pastries and hot coffee.
