citizenM Hotel Headed to Miami Worldcenter
Netherlands-based citizenM has plans to open a 348-key hotel within Miami Worldcenter, one of the largest private mixed-use developments underway in the United States, occupying 27 acres in downtown Miami.
The 12-story hotel, which will comprise 128,000 sq. ft. along NE 2nd Ave. between 7th and 8th St., will include a 10th floor sun deck with a swimming pool and rooftop bar, along with a fitness center and gym. The hotel will also have 1,850 sq. ft. for societyM, the brand’s signature creative spaces and meeting rooms.
Residence Inn Hotel Opens With New Brand Design
The 96-suite Residence Inn by Marriott in Summerville, SC is set to open. The all-suite Residence Inn Charleston Summerville will operate as a Marriott franchise, owned by Chatham Lodging Trust and managed by Island Hospitality Management of West Palm Beach, FL.
Residence Inn has created a new decor called “new house weave” with a feel that is warm, optimistic and flexible. The new design incorporates a transitional style, crisp details and signature residential textiles. Each property will offer geographically tailored options.
Shaner Hotels Opens Fairfield Inn & Suites Harrisburg
Shaner Hotels has opened the 123-room Fairfield Inn & Suites Harrisburg in Harrisburg, PA. Owned and operated by Shaner Hotels, the hotel is located on land leased from the Susquehanna Area Regional Airport Authority (SARAA), a joint-municipal authority that operates four regional airports.
Close to Hershey Park, Hershey’s Chocolate World, the PSU Hershey Medical Center, downtown Harrisburg and Penn State Harrisburg Campus, the four-story hotel is located near the Harrisburg International Airport (HIA). Amenities include on-site laundry, a fitness room, business center and 1,600 sq. ft. of meeting space.
Dual-Branded Hyatt Property to Come to Ontario
Cedar Fair Entertainment Company has signed a pair of hotel services agreements with a Hyatt affiliate for a dual-branded Hyatt Place and Hyatt House hotel on the site of its Canada’s Wonderland amusement park near Toronto in Vaughan, Ontario. The dual-branded Hyatt House and Hyatt Place Vaughan will have 203 rooms—both guestrooms and apartment-style suites—in a high-tech contemporary environment. Construction is expected to begin in the first half of 2019, with an opening date planned for late 2020.
The eight-story, dual-branded hotel will be located on a 16-acre parcel of the park’s land, close to Toronto Pearson International Airport. It will have free WiFi throughout the hotel, an indoor pool, 24-hour fitness center, coffee and cocktails bar, casual dining options, business center, flexible meeting and event spaces and an outdoor sun deck.
Beach Hotel to Open in Costa Rica
Santarena Hotel will open in February 2019 in Las Catalinas, Costa Rica. The hotel will have 45 guestrooms and three suites, indoor and outdoor dining options, a bar, a rooftop lounge and pool along with 4,806 sq. ft. of meeting space. The hotel is also has access to a trail system for hiking and mountain biking and is close to Playa Danta beach.
