Choice Grows in the South

NATIONAL REPORT—Choice Hotels International is growing its footprint across the South with the opening of four properties in Florida and South Carolina.

Three Choice Brands Open on Sarasota Campus

The newly constructed Comfort Inn & Suites in Sarasota, FL, recently opened on the same campus as a recently built Sleep Inn and MainStay Suites dual-brand property.

The campus is located off Interstate 75, which provides access to Sarasota-Bradenton International Airport and the Sarasota Event Center. The hotels are also a short drive from some of the area’s top employers, including Florida Resource Management LLC and Venice Regional Bayfront Health. Leisure travelers staying at the hotels have access to Lido Key Beach, Siesta Key Beach, the John and Mable Ringling Museum of Art, and the Marie Selby Botanical Gardens.

The six-story, 107-room Comfort Inn & Suites in Sarasota is the latest to open as part of the brand’s multiyear transformation, featuring rooms and public spaces with a modern design, as well as the new Comfort logo.

The Comfort Inn & Suites in Sarasota and neighboring Sleep Inn and MainStay Suites dual-brand hotel were developed by WB Services Construction LLC. The company now has 16 Choice-branded hotels in its portfolio.

Third Cambria Opens In South Carolina

Cambria Hotels has opened its third hotel in South Carolina, miles from the state line in a rapidly growing submarket of Charlotte, NC.

The four-story, 127-room Cambria Hotel Fort Mill joins the Cambria Hotel Charleston Riverview and the Cambria Hotel Mount Pleasant in the state. The hotel opens amid a strong year for the upscale Cambria brand in which six hotels have already opened their doors, with up to seven more hotels representing over 1,100 rooms expected to open in top-tier markets across the country before the year’s end.

The new-construction Cambria Fort Mill is located in a modern, mixed-use development one mile from Interstate Highway 77, providing guests access to the nearby business corridors of Charlotte, NC, and Rock Hill, SC. Several major corporations are less than a 10-minute drive from the Cambria Hotel Fort Mill, including LPL Financial, AmerisourceBergen, Shutterfly, Schaeffler Group, OneMain Financial and Springs Global U.S. The Cambria hotel also offers guests convenient access to Cedar Fair’s Carowinds amusement park and antique shops and restaurants in its historic downtown district.

The hotel was developed by the Weinstein Development Company and FHF Hotel LLC.
