CHICAGO—Canopy by Hilton, Hilton’s new lifestyle hotel brand, and RCP Holdings, LLC, an affiliate of The Prime Group, Inc., unveiled plans to develop a hotel here. Located on the southwest corner of South LaSalle St. and West Adams St. in Chicago’s Loop neighborhood, the 223-room Canopy is slated to open in fall 2018.
The hotel’s entrance will be on La Salle St., with its reception area, restaurant, bar and Canopy Central lobby located on the 20th level. The hotel will also have a fitness center, a day transfer lounge, 4,000 sq. ft. of meeting space, and a rooftop terrace and bar.
The hotel will be a conversion of the top four floors of the landmark building by Daniel Burnham at 208 S. LaSalle, which also houses the new 610-key JW Marriott. Canopy’s guestrooms will average 480 sq. ft., with wood floors, 60-in. HDTVs and large bathrooms with walk-in showers and private toilet compartments. The property will also have many one- and two-bedroom corner suites.
Complimentary breakfast is available every day, either in the lobby area of Canopy Central or as a Canopy Breakfast Bag delivered to a guest’s room. Each evening, Canopy Central will offer complimentary wine and beer tastings.
The Loop neighborhood is home to 100 restaurants, galleries and boutiques and numerous subway and elevated rapid transit stations.
