Buying & Selling: Four Hotel Deals to Know

NATIONAL REPORT—Hotel Business is tracking transactions within the industry. Several properties have recently changed hands, including Embassy Suites Philadelphia Valley Forge; DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel in Columbia, MD; Hampton Inn – Provo, UT and the Holiday Inn Express in Sandy, UT; and Comfort Inn & Suites in Rifle, CO.

The Plasencia Group Sells Embassy Suites Philadelphia Valley Forge
The Plasencia Group has sold the 229-room Embassy Suites Philadelphia Valley Forge hotel, which is located in Wayne, PA. The firm represented Valley Forge Investment Corporation in the sale of the all-suite hotel. Cape Carolyn LLC acquired the asset.

Virginia-Based Company Purchases Columbia Hotel
In a joint venture, LTD Hospitality Group and Sefira Capital acquired the 152-room DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel in Columbia, MD. In the fall, additional capital investments will be made to update all guestrooms and common spaces. This is the first transaction between LTD Hospitality Group and Sefira Capital.

Hunter Hotel Advisors Represents Sale of Utah Properties
Hunter Hotel Advisors has represented an institutional seller in the sale of the Hampton Inn – Provo, UT and the Holiday Inn Express in Sandy, UT. These properties were acquired by a regional ownership group.

Ascent Real Estate Brokers Sale of Comfort Inn & Suites – Rifle, CO
Ascent Real Estate has brokered the sale of the Comfort Inn & Suites in Rifle, CO. The property is an 85-key, upper-midscale, interior corridor hotel located on the I-70 corridor. Built in 2009, the Comfort Inn & Suites recently completed its Move to Modern renovation.
