Boca Raton Resort & Club Offers Orangetheory Fitness Pop-Up Experience

BOCA RATON, FL—Are you ready to feel the burn? That’s the ultimate goal of Orangetheory Fitness (OTF), a full body, science-backed, technology-tracked, coach-inspired workout.

Boca Raton Resort and Club, A Waldorf Astoria Resort, has partnered with the fitness franchise to offer a limited time, pop-up experience for guests through April.

In one hour, participants are coached through a series of exercises that are focused on training endurance, strength and power. How intense is it? That’s based on the individual person’s heart rate zone—monitored by a fitness tracker—which makes the workout accessible for all fitness levels.

While OTF has 1,000 studios worldwide, this is the first time Orangetheory is available outside studio walls.

“We continuously bring our guests exclusive leading wellness experiences at Boca Raton Resort and Club,” said John Tolbert, president and managing director of the hotel. “It’s part of who we are as a resort to source and provide renowned instructors and first-class fitness programs for our guests and club members. Orangetheory Fitness is a perfect fit for the Boca Raton Resort brand, from its roster of top industry expert instructors, to the state-of-the-art equipment and science-backed training. Not to mention, Orangetheory Fitness’ international headquarters is in Boca Raton. This Orangetheory Fitness partnership is the first of its kind, and Boca Raton Resort is the first resort to bring it to life.”

The hotel’s main goal is to help guests and club members feel better and happier than when they arrived.

“From a Forbes Four Star Spa to the 30 tennis courts, two golf courses, and the artists-in-residence series, which includes Orangetheory Fitness, Paddle Diva, Gravity + Oxygen (another Boca-based brand) and more, guests have a plethora of options to choose from, making Boca Raton Resort the ultimate destination for all relaxation and wellness needs,” said Tolbert. “We also recently put on a wellness showcase that highlighted all these options to guests and club members in one place, which was very well received. Due to high demand, we’re constantly sourcing what’s new and what’s next in the wellness space to bring guests new partnerships on a regular basis.”

Tolbert is not just a partner, he’s a participant. He takes an OTF class weekly and what he finds appealing about this new offering is the convenience for guests and the science to a successful workout.

“While boutique fitness isn’t a new concept, it’s exciting for guests traveling to an unfamiliar destination to have the option conveniently located inside of their hotel,” he said. “I’m always trying new types of workout classes, and if I think it would be something guests and club members would enjoy, I try to bring that experience here to the resort. One of the great aspects of Orangetheory is the science behind the workout, specifically the 36-hour window of post-workout calorie burning. I think it’s one of the reasons the organization has been so successful.”

In terms of feedback, Tolbert noted that guests and club members love the new Orangetheory Fitness studio.

“They are able to switch their workout schedule up from an ordinary gym session to an exciting class without having to travel far,” he said. “The addition of new classes adds a variety and keeps things interesting for fitness-conscious guests.”
