Rebel Hospitality to manage St. James Hotel Selma
The St. James Hotel, a historic hotel property in Selma, AL, and part of Tapestry Collection by Hilton, has selected Rebel Hospitality, the hotel management division of Capstone Equities, for hotel management services.
The 55-room hotel, located adjacent to the Alabama River and the Edmund Pettus Bridge, was built in 1835 and is the only surviving antebellum riverfront hotel in the country.

The property was redeveloped by Rhaglan Hospitality LLC, and the Woodforest CEI-Boulos Opportunity Fund. Rhaglan’s experience in development and hotel management totals more than $200 million of completed commercial buildings, including numerous core branded hotels totaling more than 850 rooms, with a focus on historic preservation.

“As Rebel Hospitality continues its rapid growth, it is important to us to partner with property owners that reflect our values,” said Brian Sparacino, president/CEO of Rebel Hospitality. “In our partnership with the St. James Hotel and the ownership team at Rhaglan we have an opportunity to elevate a unique historic property that is not only located at the epicenter of the American Civil Rights movement but is poised to be a catalyst to the Selma community, its economy and the regional travel market.”
