Auberge to Manage Chileno Bay Resort & Residences

CABO SAN LUCAS, MEXICO—Auberge Resorts Collection, owner and operator of boutique luxury hotels, resorts, residences and private clubs, revealed plans to manage Chileno Bay Resorts & Residences, Los Cabos, a new luxury resort opening here in December.

The property formerly known as VieVage Los Cabos is set amid the 1,200-acre resort community of Chileno Bay, a Discovery Land Company development, which is comprised of a private beach club, Tom Fazio-designed 18-hole golf course, residences and more.

“Auberge Resorts Collection is synonymous with exceptional luxury experiences and we are pleased to work in partnership to create the premier resort destination in Los Cabos,” said Mark Cooley, partner, SV Capital Partners, the developer of Chileno Bay Resort & Residences. “The resort will be unlike anything else in the marketplace, offering a modern, active and outgoing spirit in its design and lifestyle.”

“The natural beauty of Chileno Bay from its days as a sleepy fishing village is still just unparalleled,” said Mark Harmon, founder and managing partner, Auberge Resorts Collection. “Chileno Bay Resort & Residences, with its close proximity to and allure of the ocean—in addition to the magnificent cascading pool at the heart of the resort that takes guests into the sandy shores of Chileno Bay— is poised to be an unforgettable Cabo retreat.”

The San Francisco design team of Glazier Le Architects and interior designers BAMO embraced the natural environment and a contemporary indoor-outdoor aesthetic, infusing a color palette of earth, plant and sea tones with bright sea-colored tiles, custom fabrics, natural materials, original artwork and fixtures throughout to create a timeless, elegant desert-meets-ocean environment, according to the company.

Chileno Bay Resort & Residences will comprise 60 guestrooms ranging from 760 to 885 sq. ft. of interior and exterior space, and 32 expansive two-, three- and four-bedroom villas ranging from 3,300 to 4,500 sq. ft.—featuring outdoor showers, terraces, indoor showers and soaking tubs, along with handcrafted furniture and accessories created by local artisans.

Interior design finishes include marble flooring, artisan plaster walls, and handmade colorful tiles. Accommodations will feature an open concept with floor-to-ceiling windows and doors that open to ample private terraces. Ground floor villas will have private pools, while the upper-level villas will have Jacuzzis. All residential villas will be equipped with indoor-outdoor gourmet kitchens featuring Wolf and Subzero appliances, outdoor showers, as well as garden, pool or ocean views. Two, three-bedroom Sky Villas will feature large private rooftop terraces with private pool, extended living area and bar. One six-bedroom villa will offer over 11,000 sq. ft. of indoor-outdoor space, including 6.5 bathrooms, a private swimming pool, outdoor shower and views of the Sea of Cortez.

Amenities will include three culinary concepts, including the resort’s signature restaurant, a breezy open-air space designed by Los Angeles-based Gulla Jonsdottir Architecture + Design, offering local, freshly caught seafood, raw bar and interactive ceviche bar. A beachside taco bar will offer specialty tequilas at the edge of the beach, while a poolside grill will serve light fare for lunch.
