AT&T, Host, GuestTek to Bring Connectivity, Video Content To Marriott Hotels

DALLAS—AT&T is teaming up with Host Hotels & Resorts, Inc. and GuestTek in a multi-year relationship to bring DirecTV shows, movies and more to Marriott hotel rooms owned by Host.

Some Marriott hotels in the U.S. owned by Host already feature in-room entertainment, while the remaining rooms will be added through the second quarter of 2016.

“Hoteliers are looking to connect their customers to an integrated video and broadband solution that can grow as needed, is cost effective and saves energy,” said Eric Boyer, SVP, AT&T GigaPower, Commercial and Connected Communities. “We’ve worked with GuestTek to deliver a tailored experience. It gives guests access to the latest shows and movies while meeting Host’s expectations and Marriott’s national brand standards. Guests win when they can watch what they want directly on the hotel room HDTV.”

Working with DirecTV, GuestTek will provide the OneView Managed Video Platform to offer premium features including a branded welcome screen, a fully interactive program guide, access to Internet content and more.

“We pride ourselves on being a leader in technology solutions for the hotel industry,” said Arnon Levy, president and CEO of GuestTek. “We’re combining the custom Marriott solution with our Internet service to deliver the future of in-room entertainment. Guests will have an at-home experience at their fingertips while on the go.”

“Our goal is to deliver the best possible in-room experience for our guests by working with leading providers. AT&T with GuestTek makes that possible,” said Minaz Abji, EVP of asset management at Host Hotels & Resorts. “We’re excited to offer our guests an easy way to get all the programs they’re used to watching at home—while they are traveling.”
