American Hotel Register Company Becomes a Certified Women-Owned Business

VERNON HILLS, IL—American Hotel Register Company is now a certified women-owned business.

Technically, the majority of American Hotel has been women-owned for the last few years (54% of the company’s current ownership is female); however, the hospitality supplier felt the need to take the next step.

“Knowing the importance of this certification to our customers and suppliers, we wanted to make it official by partnering with the Women’s Business Enterprise National Council (WBENC),” said Angela Korompilas, president and CEO of American Hotel. “WBENC is known for its very robust and thorough certification process. As a company that has long supported and promoted women in business, it’s an absolute honor to be one of the largest women-owned companies in the country.”

WBENC certifies women-owned businesses throughout the country. In order to be considered for certification by WBENC, a business must be at least 51% owned, controlled, operated and managed by a woman or women. WBENC’s certification standard is accepted by more than 1,000 American corporations.

American Hotel’s efforts to promote diversity within can be seen throughout its ranks. For example, five out of 11 senior leadership team members are women, and 46% of its workforce are women.

“Our commitment to diversity has always been focused on meeting the growing needs and ambitions of our customers,” Korompilas said. “We continually look to hire the very best talent, and we recognize that a workforce made up of professionals of unique backgrounds and perspectives is critical to our future success.”
