Across the Atlantic: Hotel Openings in Europe

INTERNATIONAL REPORT—In Europe, major hotel brands such as Marriott International, Meliá Hotels International and Radisson Hotel Group have opened—or will soon open—properties. Here’s a look at what’s new:

Aloft Madrid Gran Vía Opens
The 139-room Aloft Madrid Gran Vía has opened. Amenities include the Re:charge fitness center and Splash pool; Tactic, an interactive private creative meeting space with natural light equipped with modern audio-visual hardware; and Re:fuel by Aloft, a 24-hour cafe for a quick bite on the go.

Meliá Hotels International to Open Calviá Beach Hotel
Meliá Hotels International is expected to open Calviá Beach hotel this summer, marking a new era for the Innside by Meliá portfolio. With 270 guestrooms, the hotel has a rooftop area with restaurants, bars and the largest transparent floating pools in Europe, with views overlooking the beachfront. Innside Calvia Beach will partner with local artists to host a series of events on the hotel ground floor, aligned with its aim to reposition Magaluf as a tourist hot spot. With sustainability in mind, Innside Calviá Beach has been built following strict environmental responsibility and energy efficiency criteria. The hotel is free from single-use plastic, offers sustainable towels and linens, and yoga mats are made of cork.

Park Inn by Radisson Wismar to Open in Germany
Radisson Hotel Group has signed the new Park Inn by Radisson Wismar in Northern Germany. The property is set to open in the third quarter. The property will have 98 guestrooms and include a restaurant, bar and fitness studio. There will also be conferences rooms. The Park Inn by Radisson Wismar will be operated through a franchise agreement with Radisson Hospitality AB.
