A Trio of Hotels in the Works

NATIONAL REPORT—Hotel companies are kicking off the new year with new-construction and renovation projects. Here’s a closer look:

Cambria Hotel Orlando International Airport Breaks Ground

The upscale Cambria Hotels brand, franchised by Choice Hotels International Inc., and Green Stay Hospitality LLC, part of Reddy Hotels, Orlando, FL, has commenced construction on the first Cambria hotel in Orlando at a groundbreaking event at the property’s future location. The Cambria Hotel Orlando International Airport is slated to open in early 2021.

Located at 7986 South Conway Rd., the five-story, 106-room Cambria Hotel Orlando International Airport will be less than two miles from the airport. Future guests will be a short drive from theme parks like Walt Disney World, Universal Studios and SeaWorld. The hotel will also be a short distance to the Orange County Convention Center and downtown attractions, such as the Dr. Phillips Center for the Performing Arts, the Amway Center, live entertainment, fine dining, breweries and shopping outlets.

The Lloyd to Open in Spring 2020

Hotel Zero Degrees in Stamford, CT, has closed to make way for The Lloyd, a new luxury boutique hotel being developed by RMS Companies. The entire building will be renovated and transformed into a 94-room luxury boutique hotel with a warm modern design. The lobby lounge will include a celebrity chef-curated breakfast and will serve cocktails and a bar menu in the evenings.

“After 10 successful years of operating Hotel Zero Degrees Stamford, we are excited to transform this facility into the finest boutique hotel in the area with luxury accommodations and amenities, as well as first class attention to service,” said Randy Salvatore, CEO, RMS Companies, developer and owner of The Lloyd.

The hotel is being designed with a guest-first ethos—each step of the arrival experience has been mindfully and intentionally thought-out from a redesign of the front entrance, to the addition of a locally sourced marketplace, a wellness offering, modern guestroom furniture, bedding, luxury toiletries, walk-in showers, turn-down service and the addition of a new elevator. The property will cater to high-performance professionals, accommodate families and pets, and will partner with the local community.
