A Trio of Hotel Openings in Texas

NATIONAL REPORT—Hotels are making their way into Texas. Brand milestones, art-focused properties and extended-stay options are taking the Lone Star state by storm:

WoodSpring Suites Opens 50th Hotel in Texas
WoodSpring Suites, franchised by Choice Hotels International Inc., along with developer Summit 11 Investment Group, have opened the brand’s 50th hotel in Texas. The four-story, 119-room WoodSpring Suites Pecos is close to major energy corporations including Halliburton, Schlumberger and Noble Energy, among others. Extended-stay guests will also have access to local leisure attractions, like the West of the Pecos Museum and the Texas Rodeo Hall of Fame. The hotel has three suite layouts, a fitness center and guest laundry. The WoodSpring Suites Pecos joins the Lone Star State’s recent openings: WoodSpring Suites Dallas Plano Central Legacy Drive and WoodSpring Suites San Antonio Lackland.

Hall Arts Hotel Debuts in Dallas Arts District
Hall Arts Hotel is now open in Dallas. The property was developed by Craig and Kathryn Hall, proprietors of California’s Hall, Walt and Baca Wines and founders of Dallas-based real estate company Hall Group. Designed by HKS Architects with interiors by Bentel & Bentel, the hotel has 183 guestrooms, 19 Dallas Arts District-inspired suites, a rooftop pool, a contemporary art collection, a fitness center and more than 6,000 sq. ft. of meeting and event space. The property collaborated with former chief curator of the U.S. Department of State’s ‘Arts in Embassies’ Program Virginia Shore and art advocate and Hall Group curator Patricia Meadows to curate a collection of specially commissioned pieces. The hotel is managed by Latitudes: Lifestyles by Crescent Hotels & Resorts and is a member of The Leading Hotels of the World collection.

TownePlace Suites Expands in Waco, TX
Marriott International’s TownePlace Suites by Marriott Waco Northeast is now open. The new 85-suite hotel will operate as a Marriott franchise, owned by AM Lodging LLC and managed by 281 Lodging Group of Longview, TX. The TownePlace Suites Waco Northeast is close to Baylor University, Magnolia Market at the Silos and McLane Stadium. Hotel amenities include an outdoor swimming pool, a 24-hour fitness center, a meeting room, laundry facilities and on-site business services.
