A Look at Hospitality Executives on the Move

NATIONAL REPORT—Hospitality companies are bolstering their leadership teams with personnel moves. Here’s a look at the recent appointments from HVMG, Frontier and Cycas Hospitality:

HVMG Promotes Three to Leadership Team
Hospitality Ventures Management Group (HVMG) has made three changes to its leadership team:

Stephanie Bauer has been appointed to regional VP of operations. Prior to joining HVMG, Bauer was EVP of asset management at Avana Capital. In that role, she partnered with numerous hotel operators to drive operational performance, as well as managing new development and renovation projects.

In his newly created role as VP of restaurants and bars, Marcus Marshall will oversee the development and operations of HVMG’s specialty restaurant concepts and catering operations. Most recently, he was regional director of operations for Atlanta-based Concentrics Restaurants. While there, he was responsible for operational leadership, new concept development and attracting and developing talent across a portfolio of independent restaurants, as well as hotel restaurants and bar concepts.

Ken Morgan has been promoted to regional director of operations. Morgan entered the hospitality industry as a director of security with Adam’s Mark Hotels in 1994. He has held numerous leadership roles in operations and asset management throughout his career and joined HVMG in 2014 as general manager of the Embassy Suites by Hilton in Tulsa, OK.

Frontier Appoints SVP of Acquisitions & Development
Frontier Development & Hospitality Group LLC has appointed Rick Moceri as SVP of acquisitions & development. Moceri is a hotel investment professional with 16 years of experience performing hotel acquisitions, dispositions and asset and portfolio management. Throughout his career he has executed luxury, full-service, limited-service and resort lodging acquisitions and dispositions for firms including Lodging Capital Partners, Carey Watermark Investors and Moceri Capital LLC.

Cycas Hospitality Appoints Four Sales and Revenue Leaders
Cycas Hospitality has welcomed four new sales and revenue management leaders to its team:

Mark Upham joined Cycas this summer in the newly created role of group director of sales. With 20 years of experience of driving commercial returns in the hospitality industry, Upham brings expertise in identifying strategic corporate partnerships, maximizing sales processes and developing sales teams, both on and off property. He joins Cycas from IHG, where he spent 15 years in a variety of sales leadership roles.

Kelly Chappell was appointed as group director of revenue. With 19 years of hospitality experience, she joined Cycas from Westmont Hospitality Group where, as group revenue manager, she spent two years providing strategic commercial direction, support and training across 50 hotels and numerous international brands.

Cycas has also named Cluster Revenue Managers Lewis Paxford and Graziella Marcellino, who bring experience of working across international hotel brands in several European countries.
