INTERNATIONAL REPORT—A new luxury boutique hotel is set to open in Amsterdam this month; Meliá Hotels International will begin renovations in 2018 on a property it just opened; and Hyatt Centric Kanazawa is slated to open in 2020.
Hotel TwentySeven to Open in Amsterdam
Hotel TwentySeven will open at the end of the month. Hotelier Eric Toren is opening the new luxury boutique hotel in Amsterdam. The 16-suite property will offer luxury services, including options of private butlers, personal assistants, personal shoppers, personal trainers, “insider” city tours, etc. TwentySeven will house Bougainville by Master Chef Pascal Jalhay.
Meliá Hotels International Opens at Iguazu Falls
Melia Hotels International has opened the Meliá Iguazu, located in the Iguazu National Park in Argentina. Previously managed by another international hotel group, Meliá Hotels International added the property to its portfolio on September 30. In 2018, the property will undergo renovations to take on the characteristics and features of the Meliá Hotels & Resorts brand. The 169-room hotel has a wide range of dining facilities (including one takeaway area), swimming pools, a spa, a gym, children’s play areas, and meeting and event spaces. The hotel also has a visitor center focused on the enhancement of the natural environment of Iguazu.
Hyatt Unveils Plans for the First Joint Hyatt Centric and Hyatt House in Japan
A Hyatt affiliate has entered into a management agreement with Orix Corporation for a Hyatt Centric hotel and Hyatt House hotel in Kanazawa, Japan’s north coast in the Hokuriku region. The hotels, expected to open in mid-2020, will mark Hyatt’s first joint development and first Hyatt House hotel in Japan. Hyatt Centric Kanazawa will occupy the entire 14-story left tower and will offer approximately 250 guestrooms, a restaurant, a rooftop bar, a fitness center and meeting facilities.
