TUCSON, AZ—The Westin La Paloma Resort & Spa has completed the renovation of its 487 guestrooms—including 25 suites—and 60,000 sq. ft. of meeting space as part of its $30-million refresh that began last spring.
Enhancements to the guestrooms include an RFID key lock card system; a headboard incorporated with LED technology and adjustable reading lights; an executive desk with power outlets and WiFi; an accent table that expands to accommodate a laptop or in room dining tray; a 42-in. HDTV; an iHome Bluetooth docking station; and a mini-refrigerator.
Updates to the guest bathrooms include an expanded walk-in shower with the Westin Heavenly Rain Forest showerhead, as well as the additions of the Westin Heavenly mirror, double sink vanity, full-length mirror, a deep soaking tub with tiled surface and a lighted makeup mirror.
The hotel’s meeting space now features new carpeting; ballroom chandeliers with dimmable LED lighting; new banquet equipment including tables, chairs and linens; and a color palette of soothing and contemporary colors on walls and space dividers.
Additional phases of the resort-wide rejuvenation project will take place in 2013—the majority during the slower summer months. These will include enhancements to the lobby, AZUL Restaurant and Lounge and the adjoining mountain-view patio, Kids Club facilities and poolside cabanas.
