BRUSSELS, BELGIUM—Rocco Forte Hotels has appointed two executives at Hotel Amigo Brussels.
The hotel's new general manager, Philippe Spagnol, will oversee all aspects of the 174-room luxury hotel, which caters to both an international and local clientele.
The 26-year veteran joins Rocco Forte Hotels from the Lapa Palace in Lisbon where he was the GM for two years. Prior to this, Spagnol spent four years as the GM at Orient-Express’ Hotel Monasterio in Cusco, Peru.
A graduate of the Ecole Hôtelière Lausanne, Spagnol started his career in food and beverage and has held roles at the Beau Rivage Palace Lausanne, Claridges in London, Negresco in Nice and Grand Hotel Europe in St Petersburg, among others.
In addition, Silvia Brighenti has been named the new director of sales and marketing for the hotel. Brighenti will oversee all sales and marketing activities worldwide, and will enhance the emphasis on the European and North American markets, while also developing new emerging markets such as Russia and the CIS, according to the company.
Brighenti has more than 10 years' experience in luxury hotel sales and marketing. Previously, she was director of sales and marketing at the Sheraton Rhodes Resort for two years. She also served as assistant director of sales and marketing at Le Méridien Beach Plaza in Monte Carlo, and held other sales and revenue management roles at Le Méridien Chia Laguna in Sardinia and Boscolo Hotel Leon d’Oro in Verona.
