Dukes St. James Unveils Multi-year Refresh

LONDON—The Dukes St. James London has kicked off 2013 by unveiling the final phase of a multi-year refresh that has elevated the historic Mayfair hotel's status among the finest five-star hotels in London, according to the property.

The redesign of all guestrooms and suites at Dukes St. James London was led by interior designer Sandy Deane, who utilized a wide range of sophisticated fabrics and materials. Each guestroom has been made over with curtains and throws in one of five "schemes": taupe and berry; copper and jet; zinc and grape; marine and port; or quail and plum. New wallcoverings in tones of gold and warm greens, designed by UK interior designer Shaun Clarkson, have also been added to all public areas, fitting the classic English contemporary style of the hotel.

The property-wide refresh has seen myriad new additions the Dukes St. James London. In 2011, the hotel launched Thirty Six by Nigel Mendham, which offers refined British cuisine from its Michelin-star namesake chef. Also in 2011, the hotel popped the cork on PJ Lounge, an intimate bar celebrating champagne. 2010 saw the launch of the Cognac and Cigar Garden, an outdoor setting for enjoying Cuban cigars from the UK's sole importer and distributor, Hunters and Frankau, and vintage cognacs from the world's oldest major brandy house, Martell.
