BANGKOK— The W Bangkok will open here December 7 and become the second Thai property in the W collection.
Located on North Sathorn Road, W Bangkok will combine a 31-floor modern glass tower with a century-old, European-inspired heritage building. Set in Bangkok’s commercial district with direct access to the city’s elevated rail system, W Bangkok will be Thailand’s first urban W Hotel, following the November 2010 opening of W Retreat & Spa Koh Samui, located in the Gulf of Thailand.
Designed by Soda, a local architecture firm, the hotel occupies two buildings of different cultures and era: the former home of a wealthy Thai tradesman that, in the 19th Century, became the former Russian Embassy, fused with a modern high-rise.

Running throughout the hotel’s public spaces will be a neon art installation stylized through laser cutting and pixilation. An abstract spine-pattern spiral staircase will connect the hotel’s public spaces, extending from the W Lounge to the Great Room. W Bangkok’s signature all-day dining restaurant, The Kitchen Table, will feature Thai mythical-influenced styling and structure and will be surrounded by neon glass walls inspired by crocodile skins.
W Bangkok will feature 407 guestrooms and suites. Guestrooms, which will have gold, blue or magenta tones by floor, will feature ambient and direct lighting, colored glass planks and a touch of bejeweled gold. Bathrooms will use the translucent, colored-glass planks to create privacy between the rooms. Custom designed chrome furniture and padded leather beds will accent the neutral plaster walls. Each room includes high-speed wired and wireless Internet access; flat-screen, 40- or 46-inch LED televisions; and jack-pack stations with a sound bar system and a docking station for MP3 players.

W Bangkok also will offer WOOBAR, the signature W bar concept; WET pool deck café, offering food and cocktails; and The Kitchen Table, offering Thai cuisine and other Asian items; SWEAT fitness center, AWAY Spa, WIRED Business Center and W Hotels The Store.
