Jalousie Plantation to Become a Viceroy Resort

A refreshed bedroom is part of multimillion-dollar renovation at the Jalousie Plantation.

ST. LUCIA—The Jalousie Plantation completed a three-year, multimillion-dollar transformation and will be renamed Sugar Beach, A Viceroy Resort on November 30.

The Viceroy Hotel Group, which managed the Jalousie Plantation since 2008, played a key role in the upgrading of the property, which will be branded under the Viceroy Hotels and Resorts portfolio.

Set within more than 100 acres of rainforest, the following have been either added or enhanced in the project that has cost in excess of $100 million:

· 59 new luxury villas
· Eight new luxury beachfront bungalows
· 11 luxury Sugar Mill rooms  that have been completely revamped
· a 9427-sq.-ft. Rainforest Spa featuring a range of international luxury product lines and locally inspired signature treatments, seven tree house treatment cabanas and a temascal heat experience.
· Several new restaurants and bars
· A new lobby and reception area
· New Kids Club featuring murals by British children’s book illustrator Lucy Loveheart
· New Cybernook with desktop computers and printers
· New boutique offering high-quality linens, logo wear and gift items
· Kabe Prive, private garden cabanas for day use and evening dining
· Updated PADI dive facility featuring new dive classes, snorkeling excurions and SNUBA (a cross between snorkeling and scuba)
· A new contemporary design swimming pool.

According to Jalousie’s owner, Roger Myers, the decision to become a Viceroy Resort is "a logical step that will bring enhanced benefits as the property puts the final touches to this expansive renovation project."
