CAPE TOWN, SOUTH AFRICA–Hilton Worldwide plans to bring its DoubleTree by Hilton brand to South africa, opening a 183-room hotel here by the end of the year.
The hotel is a conversion of the existing Upper Eastside Hotel, which is located in the up-and-coming Woodstock section of Cape Town. The has been and will continue to be owned by Upper Eastside Hotel (Pty), Ltd. It will operate as a franchise under a long-term agreement with Hilton Worldwide. The new DoubleTree will be Hilton Worldwide's fifth hotel in South Africa and second in Cape Town.
