BEVERLY HILLS, CA—Hilton Hotels Corp. has made a significant return to Panama with the signing of four multi-year agreements involving franchises and corporate management contracts.
Two management agreements involve a new Hilton and newly built Embassy Suites by Hilton. One franchise agreement is for a Doubletree by Hilton with another for a newly built Hilton Garden Inn. Each hotel represents the arrival of the respective brand in the country.
The 351-room Hilton Panama in Panama City is being developed by Star Bay Group, Inc. with Hilton as the manager. Completion on the hotel’s construction is scheduled for 2011.
The 306-unit Embassy Suites in Panama City will be developed by Sabadell Investment Inc. and Hilton will manage the property when it opens in October 2011.
Construction is scheduled to begin this year.
The 213-key Doubletree in Panama City will be owned and operated by Blue Star Hospitality, S.A., which is now converting and renovating the property into the brand for a spring 2010 opening.
Metropolitan Hotels SA will develop the 163-room Hilton Garden Inn Panama.
