Courtyard by Marriott Expands Footprint in Eastern China

HANGZHOU, CHINA—Marriott International recently opened the Courtyard by Marriott Hangzhou Qianjiang. Located in Hangzhou Qianjiang CBD area near to Qian Tang River, the 364-room hotel is the 11th Courtyard hotel in China.
The hotel is the 67th Marriott International property to open in China, and the latest addition to the Courtyard portfolio of more than 950 hotels in 38 countries and territories.
“Marriott International’s portfolio in China continues to expand and we’re thrilled to open our second Courtyard branded hotel in the heart of Hangzhou. The upper moderate Courtyard by Marriott brand is known for offering business and leisure guests a refreshing stay with friendly service and attention to detail.” said Henry Lee, COO of Greater China for Marriott International.
The guestrooms feature a functional work area and high-speed Internet access. The hotel’s lobby offers an open business environment and features a casual seating zone with several electrical outlets and WiFi access. Hangzhou café, located on the 2nd floor, serves breakfast, lunch and dinner buffet, offering a combination of Western dishes as well as Chinese favorites.

When you hear all the lodging industry projections for the months and years to come, much of the robust growth is forecast to be the result of the expected influx of travelers from China. In what could only be seen as good news for the industry, that expectation moved a little closer to reality when President Obama signed a visa waiver extension for Chinese travelers earlier this month.
