PALMA DE MALLORCA, SPAIN— Meliá Hotels International will open its second hotel in Lima, Peru.
The company has signed an agreement with Grupo Inversiones Hoteleras La Paz S.A.C. to manage a new TRYP by Wyndham property, the TRYP Lima Miraflores.
The 140-room property, which will be located in the Miraflores area, will feature meeting rooms, a restaurant and fitness room. Meliá Hotels International will play a role in the final design of the new hotel to keep it in line with TRYP by Wyndham standards, and it will take inspiration from the New York, Bogota and Panama properties, recent additions to the brand.
Meliá Hotels International, at its annual general shareholders meeting, had cited Peru as a target for the company, as the hotel RevPAR in the country rose by more than 4% in 2012.
