Folbrecht Named Carlson's VP, Development, The Americas

MINNEAPOLIS—Carlson Rezidor Hotel Group has appointed Todd Folbrecht as vp, development, Americas.
He will report directly to Bob Kleinschmidt, chief financial officer and chief development officer. In his new position, Folbrecht will expand his role in development by taking the lead in negotiations and project work across all of the company's hotel brands.
He joined Carlson in 1999 as an information technology audit senior. In 2006, he was promoted to director of Investments, Strategy and Analysis, and most recently senior director, business development.

When you hear all the lodging industry projections for the months and years to come, much of the robust growth is forecast to be the result of the expected influx of travelers from China. In what could only be seen as good news for the industry, that expectation moved a little closer to reality when President Obama signed a visa waiver extension for Chinese travelers earlier this month.
