Magdalena Grand Names Industry Vet as GM

SCARBOROUGH, TOBAGO—Magdalena Grand Beach Resort here named industry veteran Howard Spittle its new general manager.
Spittle brings more than 20 years' of hotel industry experience to the resort, which is operated by efm Hospitality, led by Principal John Murphy.
Spittle's hotel industry career has covered all facets of hotel operations and sales and marketing in diverse locations, from city properties to resort hotels. Recently he was a consultant with an eco-resort in Port Antonio, Jamaica, and prior to that spent seven years with Sandals and Beaches Resorts where he served as general manager of Beaches Boscobel Resort and Golf Club (now Beaches Ocho Rios), Beaches Negril Resort and Spa and Beaches Sandy Bay, all in Jamaica.
Spittle's previous positions include general manager of Point Village Resort for seven years, general manager of SeaCastles Resort and resident manager at The Tryall Club, all in Jamaica, resident manager of Port de Plaisance Resort and Casino (St. Maarten) and resident manager of Little Dix Bay (British Virgin Islands).
Magdalena Grand Beach Resort features 178 rooms with 22 one or two-bedroom suite combinations. The suites offer a private balcony, hot tub and parlor containing a pull-out sofa-bed. The resort's two-bedroom suites offer a king-size bed and two double beds while the resort's one-bedroom suites include the option of either one king-size or two double beds.
All of the resort's rooms feature marble bathrooms with shower and tub; deluxe toiletries, bathrobes and slippers; pure cotton linens; central air conditioning; ceiling fan; iron and ironing board; hair dryer; mini refrigerator; coffee/tea maker; safe; high-definition, flat-screen televisions with satellite programming, complimentary wireless Internet access and telephones.
On-property amenities include a business center, 24-hour fitness center, beauty and spa treatments at the Equilibrium Face & Body Clinic Ltd., tour desk, convenience store, gift shop and secured parking.
The resort offers a full range of facilities and activities including three swimming pools; a dive center with training pool; an 18-hole PGA-designed championship golf course; pitching and putting greens; driving range; day and nighttime tennis; and daily guest activities program.
