SHANGHAI–The Trump Hotel Collection has named Jie Qiu to VP of development & acquisitions, based in the brand's newly-opened office here.
Qiu will also serve as the Trump brand's chief country executive for Greater China. The Trump development team has identified Greater China as its top priority among high-potential emerging markets. Qiu joins Trump from Accor, the French hotel company, where he most recently was senior director of development for the China region.
The Trump Hotel Collection, based in New York, consists of eight luxury properties in the U.S., Canada and Panama.

When you hear all the lodging industry projections for the months and years to come, much of the robust growth is forecast to be the result of the expected influx of travelers from China. In what could only be seen as good news for the industry, that expectation moved a little closer to reality when President Obama signed a visa waiver extension for Chinese travelers earlier this month.
