Conrad Expands in China

BEIJING—Hilton Worldwide's luxury Conrad brand has opened its China flagship hotel here, the 289-room Conrad Beijing.
The Beijing property is the fifth Conrad in China and Hilton Worldwide's 34th hotel in the country.
The Conrad Beijing, which is in close proximity to the city's central business district and embassy area, features a number of destinaton restaurants and lounges, plus recreational facilities including a fitness center and indoor swimming pool.
More than 110 additional projects are in Hilton Worldwide's China pipeline.

When you hear all the lodging industry projections for the months and years to come, much of the robust growth is forecast to be the result of the expected influx of travelers from China. In what could only be seen as good news for the industry, that expectation moved a little closer to reality when President Obama signed a visa waiver extension for Chinese travelers earlier this month.
