Westin Debuts in Sacramento

STAMFORD, CT—Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide, Inc. will open its first Westin hotel in Sacramento, CA, in April.
Owned by Urban Commons/Brighton Management, the property formerly known as Le Rivage Hotel will undergo a $3.2-million renovation prior to reopening under the Westin flag.
The Westin Sacramento will feature 100 guestrooms and suites, many with balconies overlooking the Sacramento River, 7,000 sq. ft. of meeting and function space, a full-service restaurant, outdoor pool, spa and fully renovated fitness studio.

The most recent NYU Conference, earlier this month proved, once and for all, that the lodging industry has finally turned the corner and happy days are, indeed, here again. While the economists and pundits all provided plenty of anecdotal evidence to bear that out in terms of supply and demand ratios, RevPAR projections, asset values and all the other metrics, that’s not what has me convinced.
