sbe to Enter Seattle Market with an SLS Hotel

SEATTLE—sbe plans to develop a mixed-use project, here, that includes a 184-room SLS Hotel Seattle with an anticipated opening of 2016.
The hotel, located at Fifth and Colombia, will occupy the lower 13 floors of the $400-million tower with office space on the upper floors. sbe's partners in the development include the Stockbridge Capital Group, LLC, and Daniels Real Estate.
The hotel, which will be designed by Philippe Starck in collaboration with ZGF Architects, will feature 30,000 sq. ft. of food and beverage outlets, more than 20,000 sq. ft. of conference and event space, a full-service spa and fitness center.
“We’ve had our eye on Seattle for years, and with the local hospitality market trending in a very positive direction, we’re extremely pleased to announce our plans for SLS Hotel Seattle,” said Sam Nazarian, founder/chairman/CEO of sbe, in a statement. “Stockbridge Capital and Daniels Real Estate are leaders in architectural excellence and along with the legendary designer Philippe Starck, Fifth and Columbia will add yet another chapter to the celebrated legacy of the SLS Hotels brand, while offering a tailored and unique hotel experience for locals and visitors alike.”
sbe, which also develops and operates restaurants and lounges, recently announced plans for SLS hotels in New York and China.

When you hear all the lodging industry projections for the months and years to come, much of the robust growth is forecast to be the result of the expected influx of travelers from China.
