Luxury Collection Debuts in Poland

WARSAW, POLAND—Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide's Luxury Collection Hotels & Resorts has added the 206-room Hotel Bristol, here, to its portfolio, its first property in Poland.
Owned by Starman Poland, the hotel, which dates to 1901, is located next to Poland's presidential palace and the historic Royal Route. The hotel features a destination restaurant, wine bar, indoor swimming pool and fitness center. The hotel recently underwent an extensive renovation.
Starwood now operates six hotels in Poland under the Sheraton and westin flags in addition to Luxury Collection. Three of the six are in Warsaw.

When you hear all the lodging industry projections for the months and years to come, much of the robust growth is forecast to be the result of the expected influx of travelers from China. In what could only be seen as good news for the industry, that expectation moved a little closer to reality when President Obama signed a visa waiver extension for Chinese travelers earlier this month.
