STAMFORD, CT—Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide, Inc. plans to open 30 Sheraton-branded hotels in the next 12 months. Half of the new Sheraton hotels will open in China, while others will be located in markets like Latin America, the Middle East and Turkey. Notable openings in Asia-Pacific include the following: the Sheraton Huzhou Hot Spring Resort in China, which boasts a ring-shaped structure designed by architect Ma Yansong; Sheraton New Caledonia Bourail Resort and Spa; and Sheraton Chandigarh Hotel in India. The company plans to open its 500th Sheraton hotel in 2015.
