INDIANAPOLIS, IN—The Alexander, A Dolce Hotel, will open here on Monday, January 21. This is Dolce Hotels and Resorts’ 18th property in North America, and its first LEED and only International Association of Conference Center (IACC) certified hotel in the state. Indianapolis-based Buckingham Companies developed the property and Gensler designed it. The 209-room hotel features rain-head showers, complimentary WiFi, dimmable lighting controls, 47-in. flat screen TVs, wireless telephones and iHome entertainment systems with Bluetooth connectivity among its amenities. More than 40 pieces of art will be on view in public spaces, all selected by Dr. Lisa Freiman, head of the Indianapolis Museum of Art’s (IMA) contemporary art department, and Veronica Roberts, adjunct associate curator of contemporary art for the IMA. Amongst its f&b offerings is Plat 99 mixology bar, designed by artist Jorge Pardo, which features an outdoor terrace with contemporary furniture and built-in firepits. The hotel also offers 16,500 sq. ft. of meeting space and an 800-sq.-ft. fitness center.
