MILWAUKEE, WI—The Marcus Corp. appointed Kirk A. Rose president of Marcus Hotels & Resorts, the company’s full-service lodging division.
Rose previously held positions with Global Hyatt Corp., including serving as SVP/CFO for six years. For the past three years, he was a partner/co-founder in Salt Creek Hospitality, LLC, a private equity group focused on hospitality real estate. His experience also includes positions with Sears, Roebuck & Co.; the Chicago-based law firm of McDermott,Will & Emery LLP; and Arthur Andersen LLP in Chicago.
Marcus Hotels & Resorts owns and/or manages 20 hotels, resorts and other properties in 11 states.

When you hear all the lodging industry projections for the months and years to come, much of the robust growth is forecast to be the result of the expected influx of travelers from China. In what could only be seen as good news for the industry, that expectation moved a little closer to reality when President Obama signed a visa waiver extension for Chinese travelers earlier this month.
