SILVER SPRING, MD—Choice Hotels International has added 46 hotels to its family of brands under the Quality Inn, Comfort Inn and Econo Lodge flags. This is Choice’s largest single conversion transaction, with the exception of brand acquisitions.
Colony Capital, LLC, including Colony Financial, Inc. owns the hotels, which were formerly Jameson Inns, and Aimbridge Hospitality manages them. The properties are located in Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Louisiana, Mississippi, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee and Virginia.
Thomas J. Barrack, Jr., chairman/CEO of Colony, said in a statement, "While we considered many brands for our hotels, we recognized that Choice is a leader in the midscale lodging segment and are delighted to be franchising with them."
42 of the properties will operate as Quality Inn hotels, two as Comfort Inn hotels and the remaining two will be reflagged as Econo Lodge hotels.
