New CEO for Sunburst Hospitality

SILVER SPRING, MD—Kevin Hanley is stepping down as CEO of Sunburst Hospitality; Pamela Williams, the company’s EVP and chief counsel, will take over the role.
Going forward, Hanley will provide strategic consulting services through his newly established company, Hanley Lodging Advisors. Hanley, who joined Sunburst in 1994, served as COO from 2000-2007 when he became CEO.
Williams has been with the company since 1995, and has experience overseeing all legal, human resource, risk management and finance-related activities.
Sunburst is an owner/operator of 17 hotels nationwide.

When you hear all the lodging industry projections for the months and years to come, much of the robust growth is forecast to be the result of the expected influx of travelers from China. In what could only be seen as good news for the industry, that expectation moved a little closer to reality when President Obama signed a visa waiver extension for Chinese travelers earlier this month.
