Laurus Corp. Acquires Sixth Hotel in 2012

LOS ANGELES—Laurus Corporation, based here, has acquired the Hilton Kansas City Airport Hotel in Kansas City, MO. This is the company’s second closing on a Hilton property in the past week, and its sixth acquisition in 2012.
The company is planning an $8-million property improvement plan, including a modernized lobby, restaurant and bar. Guestrooms, meeting space and common areas will also be enhanced.
The 347-room hotel features 21,000 sq. ft. of meeting space and is located close to Fortune 500 companies including General Motors, Ford Motors, Harley-Davidson, Toyota and Sony.

When you hear all the lodging industry projections for the months and years to come, much of the robust growth is forecast to be the result of the expected influx of travelers from China.
